All That Jazz — a popular black tie affair attended by key leaders, business people, and organizations in the region — is the premier fundraising event of the Tubman Museum.
It is the event during which our Sponsors and guests enjoy an unforgettable evening of wonderful live music by a major recording artist at the Macon City Auditorium. The evening’s attendees are also treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres, delicious desserts, coffee, and libations.
The 22nd Annual All That Jazz Concert & Ball will host as our feature musical artist Grammy Award-winning R&B and soul singer-songwriter, Peabo Bryson, who is world renown as a singer of soft-rock ballads and for his three contributions to Disney animated film soundtracks. Bryson’s greatest solo hits include “Feel the Fire,” “Reaching for the Sky,” “I’m So Into You,” and “Crosswinds.” His first Top 10 pop single, “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” reached #10 in the U.S. in 1984.
Joining Peabo Bryson onstage for what is sure to be a stellar evening — as special guest performer — is Grammy Award-winning R&B, gospel and jazz singer-songwriter, Regina Belle, also a long-time Bryson collaborator!
Bryson and Belle recorded two hit duets: “Without You,” the love theme from the comedy film Leonard Part 6, recorded in 1987 and “A Whole New World,” the main theme of the Disney’s animated feature film Aladdin, recorded in 1992. The pair also recorded four duets over the years: “Without You” in 1987, “I Can’t Imagine” in 1991, “A Whole New World” in 1992, and “Total Praise” in 2009.
Following the entertainment and dinner, the fun continues with an after-concert dance party hosted by Central Georgia’s best-loved disc jockey — AJ The DJ.
Information about event Sponsorships is below; Balcony tickets are $35 each until January 12 ($40 thereafter). All proceeds from the 22nd Annual All That Jazz Concert & Ball benefit the Tubman Museum’s educational and outreach programs.
WHAT WILL MY SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT?
Education & Outreach is the cornerstone of what the Tubman Museum of African American Art, History and Culture is all about. From our onsite tours, programs and workshops to the traveling exhibits, Outreach Teachers and artists we send to schools, after-school programs, and communities throughout Central Georgia, the Tubman Museum offers innovative and immersive learning experiences that are making a positive difference in the education and lives of children, students, and families.
Your sponsorship of All That Jazz helps us not only sustain these programs, but also increase their reach and impact. As we have discovered over the last five years and numerous national studies have confirmed, arts education encourages children to express themselves creatively, increases their self-confidence, and improves their overall academic performance. At the Tubman Museum, we provide wonderful experiences, tours, exhibits, and programs on-site. But we also actively transport these resources, instruction, exhibits, and learning opportunities directly to the area schools, communities, and after-school programs that need them the most. Since we’ve opened our new museum in 2015, the opportunities for both onsite and outreach educational experiences have increased dramatically.
