Explore History through the Arts in Heritage Camp, which returns to the Tubman Museum by popular demand!

Featuring fun and informative activities during which kids learn about African American art, history and culture.

It is our goal that Heritage Campers will make new friends and participate in exciting and engaging experiences that serve to increase their understanding and appreciation of art, history, and culture.

Heritage Camp is comprised of the following activities.

  •           • Specialized Tours — African American Art, History and Music, Civil Rights,
                    Harriet Tubman, Inventors and Inventions
  •           • Films and Discussion — A Variety of Films on Art, History and Music,
                    and Artists’ Talks
  •           • Workshops — Underground Railroad, African Community Drumming, Inventors, Poetry, North Star, Signs & Symbols
  •           • Movement — Hip Hop and African Dance, Kid’s Yoga, Outside Play
  •           • Art Play — Quilting, African Art Printmaking, Adinkra Stamp Printing, Art Exploration

$90 Museum Members or $100 non-members per week per child + $10 for T-shirt. Registration is open now, so register early!
Camp will be held on Monday through Friday (October 9-13, 2017) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dropoff at 8:15 a.m. — to arrive before 8:45 a.m. — and pickup before 3:30 p.m. Extended aftercare 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. ($10 per child per day).
