The Tubman Museum and Tubman Torchbearers present the first annual Motown Night at The Tubman, a celebration in honor of the iconic record company and music style – Motown – during this very special annual fundraising event in the Peyton Anderson Rotunda from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Partygoers will enjoy live music by Harold E. Thomas & Danger Zone, a Macon-based group that has performed together for more than 25 years. The group frequently provides entertainment as a headline act, but also has been in the lineup on many tours in concert with MC Hammer, Gladys Knight, Sinbad, Kool & The Gang, The Ohio Players, Gerald Albright and many others. Although they specialize in the genres of Jazz, Top-40, R&B, Reggae, Rap, Oldies and even Country, the group will perform the unique and soulful sounds of Motown during this very special annual fundraising event.
There will also be dancing to the vibrations provided by Central Georgia’s best-loved disc jockey, AJ The DJ, who will spin the amazing Motown sounds from his extensive library of music. While entertaining the audience with the smooth recordings during the dance party, AJ will also mesmerize them with his customized video presentations.
Come to this “All-Motown“ celebration and dance party dressed as your favorite Motown artist to ensure that they will have a chance to participate in several Motown-related contests and activities! The evening also will feature a digitized laser and animated light show, heavy h’oeuvres, cash bar and more…
