On Friday, February 1, the Tubman Museum will host its first ever Dance-A-Thon.  The theme of this event is Dances of the Decades. The evening of period music, fashion and dance is presented in partnership with the following local colleges and universities:  Mercer University, Gordon State College, Fort Valley State University, Wesleyan College, Middle Georgia State University and Central Georgia Technical College.

The Dance-A-Thon will feature popular music from the 1950s to the present day.  Teams of student volunteers from each school will dance the night away while modeling popular fashions and performing signature dances from each decade.  Come out and join in the dance, or kick back, listen to classic hits, and cheer on students from our local colleges and universities.

The Dance-A-Thon is a fundraiser for the Tubman Museum.  Each year the Museum offers a calendar of special exhibitions, workshops in visual art, music and dance, afterschool educational programs and special events such as the annual Pan-African Festival of Georgia.  Proceeds from this event will help sponsor these and other museum programs. Donations to the Dance-A-Thon can be made in person, or mailed to the Tubman Museum. You can also make a donation online on behalf of one of the participating colleges and universities.  Just complete the form below and click YES on the last question in order to donate in behalf of the school/university and you can make a tax-deductible donation via credit/debit card or Paypal:
